HBHS Hall of Fame

The HBHS Hall of Fame was established in 2008 to recognise the success of outstanding former students who have made a contribution to New Zealand or on the International stage.

Established in 2008 to recognize the success of outstanding former students who have made a contribution to New Zealand or on the International stage, HBHS Hall of Fame inductees can be from all walks of life and most often excel in their professional career, on the sporting field, in the community, academia or in business.

In researching potential candidates we are constantly amazed by our Old Boys’ successes and it is encouraging to note that many Hall of Fame recipients reflect on their time at HBHS and the values they had instilled in them here as being at the foundation of their success.

Each year we celebrate another group of recipients at an assembly with our current students giving them the opportunity to aspire to greatness as those who have gone before them.

HALL OF FAME AWARD CATEGORIES

Hall of Fame Honouree

Hall of Fame Honourees are those who have achieved excellence in their field, have inspired others and received National and International honours or acclaim, with achievements or efforts noted as world-class. Honourees are invited to attend an assembly and luncheon event hosted by the HBHS Old Boys' Foundation.

Headmaster’s Commendation

Recipients of the Hall of Fame Headmasters Commendation have made a significant contribution to their chosen field and achieved National recognition. Their contribution to the school and Old Boys community has delivered significant impact towards the success of the school. This award is recognised at an event during the school year as suited to the individual award recipient.

Lifetime Service Award

The Hall of Fame Lifetime Service Award recognises an outstanding individual who has supported the Foundation, the school or the wider community, in a way that has exceeded all expectations and with significant impact towards the success of the school.
